Robert "Bob" Dennis Adams

November 19, 1942 - March 23, 2003

Robert "Bob" Dennis Adams, 60, of East Moline, died Sunday, March 23, 2003, at Aspenwood Health Care Center, Silvis.

Graveside services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum, Rock Island. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the family.

Bob was born Nov. 19, 1942, in Rock Island, son of John Russell and June B. Brattain Adams. He married Connie Hughes in 1964 in Rock Island. Bob was a 1962 graduate of Rock Island High School and was active in athletics.

He was a former member of Memorial Christian Church, Rock Island.

He had been a journeyman meat cutter and deli manager at Jewel Food Store, East Moline. Bob was a die-hard Cubs fan, Chicago Bears fan and Rocky High School fan. He and his brother, Paul S. Adams, were charter members of the Milan Jaycees.

Bob attended every Little League, Babe Ruth andAmerican Legion baseball game his sons played for the Milan teams. He lived for and loved his sons, and he was devoted to his family as the joy of his life.

Survivors include sons and spouses Sean and Curt Cody Adams, Milan, and Derick Stephenie Adams, Moline; a brother, Jerry R. Adams, Rock Island; grandchildren, Daniel, Michael, Brady and Jade Adams; nieces, Steffanie Adams, Hampton, and Cliff and Kathleen Adams Miller, Clinton, Ill.; a nephew, Paul T. Kim Adams, Port Charlotte, Fla.; and great-nephews and -nieces, Dale and Jack Miller, Brandon and Ashley Adams and Brandon Adams Sanchez. Mr. Adams was preceded in death by his father; John; mother, June; a brother, Paul S. Adams; and an infant daughter, Constance Belle.
