Ruth Brooks

August 24, 1944 - September 17, 2009

Ruth M. Brooks, 65, Galesburg, formerly of Rock Island died Thursday, September 17, 2009, at Galesburg Cottage Hospital.

Services were held September 22 in the Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel.  The Rev. Fitch officiated.

She was born August 24, 1944, in Rock Island, the daughter of Richard and Vivian VanZandbergen Brooks.  Ruth graduated from Rock Island High School in 1962.  She attended First Christian Church in Galesburg.

She is survived by a brother, Richard Brooks, of Las Vegas, Nev.; brothers-in-law Bob Sweeney and David Hunn, both of Alpha; cousins, nieces, and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Marilyn Woods, Cheryl Hunn, and Linda Sweeney.
