Jim Denton
December 11, 1943 - January 3, 2005
 James
P. ``Jimmy'' Denton, 61, of Milan, died Monday, Jan. 3, 2005, at his
home.
Mr. Denton was born Dec. 11, 1943, in Taunton, Mass., a son of Paul
and Ruth Griffin Denton. He married Mary Miller in 1965, in Moline.
Jimmy later married Sharon Glasgow in Davenport.
He worked for the International Harvester Farmall Works and later
Navistar, for 35 years and retired in 1999.
He was a great outdoorsman and loved fishing and boating. Jimmy also
liked going to the gun ranges to shoot guns from his collection. He
enjoyed playing pool, working on his car and traveling. Jimmy
especially loved spending time with his family and his special
friend, golden retriever Shelby.
Survivors include daughters, Kim Denton, Bettendorf, Kris Denton and
her husband, Rich Rector, LeClaire; stepdaughters and their
husbands, Becky and Dave Hansen, Iowa City, and Kelly and Jim
Bentley, Davenport; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren;
brothers and sisters-in-law, Phillip and Joanne Denton, Rock Island,
and Edward and Kathy Denton, Cocoa Beach, Fla.; and former spouses,
Mary Miller and Sharon Dody, both of Davenport. He was preceded in
death by his parents.
