Bill Edmund

December 1, 1944 - Dept 15, 2007

Bill Edmund

Bill Edmund, 62, of Fort Pierce, Florida., died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007.

He was born Dec. 1, 1944, the son of Walter and Mildred Edmund. He was loving brother of Linda Dusanek and Jan Brown, devoted husband to Irene Edmund and father to Tiffany Ollanove, David Edmund and Clint Prestley.

Bill graduated from Rock Island High School and earned his bachelor's degree in accounting from Augustana College, Rock Island, in 1966.

After serving two years in the U.S. Army in Germany, Bill returned to Rock Island, taking a position at the local utility company. Bill loved people and served most of his career in human resource positions improving work conditions.

Bill served his community teaching finance, systems management and computers. He volunteered and served in various positions for the Rock Island County Council on Addictions, Chamber of Commerce, American Management Society and Junior Achievement. He established the Holiday Pines Computer User Group and facilitated it.

A member of First Lutheran Church of Moline, he served in various church council positions and committees, sang in the choir and soloed.

Bill retired in 2003, and he, Irene and their cats moved to Fort Pierce. Bill loved to fish and did it often. Family and friends requested and eagerly awaited Bill's fish fries. They were delicious!

Although during his illness Bill had memory problems, he could always play cards like a pro. We chuckled when he called all the cards "cookies" and could still put them in the "right" place.
