Mary (Ernst) Goldsberry
August 6, 1944 - January 24, 2005
Mary Rae Ernst Goldsberry, 60, of Port Byron, died Monday, Jan. 24, 2005, at Loyola University Medical Center, Maywood, Ill.
She was born Aug. 6, 1944, in Prairie du Chien, Wis., to Mary G. Hurley Ernst White and Raymond E. Ernst. She graduated from Rock
Island High School in 1962. She earned a B.A. in print communications from Marycrest College in 1986. She married Jack G.
Goldsberry July 23, 1974.
She worked at a variety of jobs including postal clerk, cross-country truck driver and quality control inspector at a local plastic
molding factory.
She enjoyed reading, writing poetry and essays, crossword puzzles and Scrabble. She liked all kinds of music and people.
Survivors include her husband; sons, Raymond "Matt" Ernst, Naples, Fla., and Richard M. Ernst, Fairbury, Ill.; granddaughter,
Carrie; and grandsons, Ian, Alex and Brandon.
She wished to be remembered for her optimism, sense of humor and perseverance.
