Cynthia (Hennessey) Swayne

May 1, 1944 - October 3, 2007

Cynthia Hennessey high school photo Cynthia Hennessey SwayneCynthia Lee Hennessey Swayne 63, of Galesburg, passed away at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, Wednesday, October 3, 2007.

She was born in Rock Island, IL May 1, 1944 the daughter of Eli Thomas and Opal Irene Heriford Hennessey. She married George Benjamin "Ben" Swayne November 27, 1964 and he preceded her in death June 27, 1998 in Galesburg, IL. Her parents, a brother, Harold, and a sister, Pam Roets, also preceded her in death.

Cynthia retired in 2003 from Maytag Refrigeration Co in Galesburg. She was a life member of the PTA (Parent Teachers Association of Illinois) and a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Springfield.

She loved her family, and especially enjoyed her grandchildren. She is survived by her 2 daughters, Andrea Swayne of Elk River, MN, and Anissa (husband Rev. Marty) Mably of Springfield; a son, Arick (wife Connie) Swayne of Silver Lake MN; 5 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Victor (wife Diane) Hennessey of Sherrard, IL, and Thomas (wife Betty) Hennessey, of Olathe, KS; a sister, Carolyn (husband Gene) Ehlers, of Davenport, IA; her mother-in-law, Evelyn Swayne, of Galesburg, IL and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and an aunt.

Services were held in Our Savior's Lutheran Church and burial was in the Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline, IL  next to her husband.
