Scott Nelson

August 25, 1944 - November 22, 2007

Scott R. Nelson 63 of Geneseo lost his battle with cancer on Thursday November 22, 2007 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, Iowa.

Funeral services were held Wednesday November 28, at Vandemore Funeral Home, Ltd. Geneseo. Rev. Doug Shook officiated.  Burial was in the Rock Island National Cemetery.

Scott was born in Roswell, New Mexico on August 25, 1944 to Russell E. Nelson and M. Dorothy Desramoudt Nelson. He grew up in Rock Island, IL graduated from Rock Island High School, and attended Northern Illinois University. Scott joined the U.S. Army serving from 1966-1968 in Germany, where he met his wife Marion. He worked as a brick mason for a good 40 years, over 30 years devoted to his own business. Though he had just retired, he did not get to enjoy it for long. He will be remembered as hard working and always lending a helping hand.

Scott is survived by his Wife Marion, a daughter Christina, Council Bluffs, Iowa, his mother, a brother, and sister and their families.
