Mary (Poston) Guinn

August 1, 1944 - November 29, 1999

Mary E. Guinn, 55, of Erie, died Monday, November 29, 1999, at Illini Hospital, Silvis.

Services were held at Gibson Funeral Home, Erie. Burial was in Cordova Cemetery.

The former Mary E. Poston was born August 1, 1944, in Rock Island, the daughter of Lloyd and Adina DeLong Poston. She married Wayne Coers in September 1962. She married Robert Guinn on November 17, 1979, in Erie. He preceded her in death on January 21, 1996.

She was employed by Erie Elementary School for more than 20 years.

Mrs. Guinn was a member and past president of the Erie Educational Association. She enjoyed being near the river, fishing, bowling and reading.

Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Chris and Dan Ford, Fulton, Beth and Bill Covemaker, Moline, Jessica Guinn, Morrison; sons and daughters-in-law, Harold and Pam Coers, and Robert and Kristin Coers, all of Cordova; 14 grandchildren; her mother, Adina Poston, Rock Island; sisters, Catherine Aimesworth, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Susan Snyder, Rock Island; and brothers, Raymond Poston, Dixon, Iowa, and Bill Poston, Milan.

She was preceded in death by her father; and her mother-in-law, Alma Guinn, on March 12, 1998.
