William "Bill" Allen Sutton, 67, beloved husband, father, grandfather, father-in-law, brother, nephew, son and grandson, left us to be with our Heavenly Father on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011, at home in East Moline.

The funeral was held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 23, at Edgewood Baptist Church, Rock Island.  There was a visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, 6601 38th Ave., Moline.   Burial was at National Cemetery, Arsenal Island.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.

Bill was born on Dec. 10, 1944, in Rockford, Ill., to Gerald and Dorothy Sutton.  He married Kay Cosner on March 19, 1966.  He later married Wanda Sue (Jacobs) Neuleib on Sept. 27, 1986.

Bill graduated from Rock Island High School in 1962, and then attended Black Hawk College. He was an airman 1st class in the U.S. Air Force from 1965 to 1969.  He was a Milan village trustee from 1973 to 1979.  Later, Bill retired as a letter carrier from the Moline Post Office, serving from 1984 to 2000.  Bill was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church since 1998.  As big of a fan as he was of the Cardinals, he was an even bigger fan of his grandchildren's sporting events.  His greatest joy was being with his wife, Wanda, and children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his children, Wendy Gatter, Neil (Kelley) Sutton, Ryan Sutton, Chad Sutton; stepchildren, Chad Neuleib, Brock Neuleib, Shayne Neuleib, Lynsay (Don) Bainter; grandchildren, Paige, Tony, Brandi, Brooke, Rebecca, Julia, Nicholas, Bryce; step grandchildren, Cheyenne and Taylor; sister, Helen (Dave) Shaw; brothers, Gerald (Joan) Sutton Jr., Wayne Sutton.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Wanda.
